Star Awards

Presented by the City of Gainesville Nature Centers Commission Citizen Advisory Board

The City of Gainesville Nature Centers Commission citizen advisory board presents the annual Star Awards to individuals, groups, businesses or organizations in recognition of their positive contributions to Gainesville’s natural environment. Recipients may be honored in one of four categories: Star Volunteer, Good Neighbor, Green Business and a new award in 2021, the Amy Carpus Lifetime Achievement Award.

Star Volunteer

Honors the volunteer who has contributed the most time, energy, and/or enthusiasm volunteering in City of Gainesville nature parks or programs during the year, with consideration given to intensity of service, impact, and length of service.
